Kilts and More presents a DrummingMad Workshop on Timing:

TIMING – WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?

A workshop on the ins and outs of what makes and breaks the timing of musical expression between Pipes and Drums.

For the first time, DrummingMad’s very own Dean Hall is coming to Switzerland to present his pipe band music timing model. In a time where ensemble playing is coming under more focus than ever before, Pipers and Drummers are looking for information and methods to improve their own playing.

    WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

At the workshop you will learn the foundation timing structures of all Pipe Band music and how that relates to your own playing. You will learn new techniques in learning tunes, optimal practice regimes and the biggest causes of musical failure and how to avoid them. Pipers will discover new ways to develop consistency in timing in their own playing. Tenor and Bass Drummers will learn new techniques in playing their instrument and improve timing as well as learn some cool new rhythms. Snare Drummers will learn new techniques to optimise their execution to be able to play better for longer.

    ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Dean Hall is the former leading drummer of the St Laurence O’Toole Pipe Band from Dublin, Ireland and is the current Principal of Drumming in Australia. He is known throughout Europe from hosting many workshops over the years starting in 1995.

The workshop will be presented twice only during Dean’s time in Switzerland. Come to one of these two great DrummingMad Workshops on timing to hear and try new ways to open your own playing. You will not be disappointed.
