One of the first tunes any drummer or piper will learn, the Green Hills of Tyrol is one of the best known and most played of the Scottish Pipe Band repertoire.
Originally from Rossini’s opera “William Telle”, the Green Hills of Tyrol was transcribed to Pipes in 1854 by Pipe Major John MacLeod after he heard it played by a Sardinian military band.
